If you have a modem connected to your Macintosh and to a telephone, choose this command to automatically dial the phone number of the entry at the top of the Summary or Label Results Window or the current entry in the Detail Results Window.
Upon selecting this command, if you haven't entered your local STD code in the Dialing Settings dialog box, the STD Code? dialog box appears.
- Enter the STD code for your current locality into the Local STD code text box and click the OK button.
Dial Settings
Use this command to tell TBF where your modem is connected and how to dial via your telephone system. Upon choosing this command:
1. Choose the port to which your modem is connected to your Macintosh.
2. If necessary, in the Dial String entry box, enter any special commands that your modem requires before it can correctly dial the phone number.
The default dial string is "ATDP". This brings the modem to ATtention, and Pulse Dials the subsequent number. The equivalent string for Tone dial phones is "ATDT".
If dialing through a PABX, add an access code followed by a comma (for a half second delay) to the dial string. The access code is the number you usually dial to get an outside line.
For example, if you dial "0" to get an outside line, change the dial string to "ATDP0,". If you are still unable to get a dial tone, try adding an extra comma ("ATDP0,,").
3. If necessary, enter or change the value of the STD text box. This should be the STD code for your current locality.
Hang Up
Use this command when you have finished your call if your modem has not automatically disconnected.
